Theatre of Stars Houston was founded in the year 1968. It produces the greatest number of musical theatre in USA. The name originates from the venue when the first performance took place-The Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park. The outdoor was set in such a way that it gave all the people present "under the stars" type of a feel. Since then, every summer this theatre performs in Hermann Park entertaining its audience with 42 musicians. This theater has provided almost 3000 plays and 12 world premiers; one of them is Walt Disney's Beauty and the Beast in the year 1993.
